Girl, I dig your Cats Eyes.

Lord knows how I came across such a thing! But y'know they do look like fun. I don't know if it's the same with some kittens out there, but my beauty spots wind up looking like I've made a booby with my makeup!
I dig 'em.

Pedal off them honky tonk blues.

Bicycling gets me feelin' good. Especially when the sun is out, and I don't have to wear unsightly raincoats and such sorts.

We went to go and get the oeuff as we wasted them making many unsuccessful things for friends birthdays.

Neck-a-lace.

You know what it's like when you really want something, but can't find that thing anywhere? Well that's how I have been over dice necklace. No respectable one in sight. So when I came across these cute cute beads, I knew I was in for some jewelery DIY.

The flower beads are just as nice, and I shall wear with a black & white dress I am planning on winning on eBay. Don't bid against me!

Holly Heartbeat: Hellzapoppin' Back Home.

Today is the day that I get driven back home to friends, a new bed and a whole new batch of recipies. Away from my unworthy kitchen and the rain of Manchester. (I'll miss it really) An
d I'm excited. So very excited in fact that I could do this dance....

Hello Nottingham and all your fun.

Roll Up! Roll Up!

A strange thing happened today. You know those poor people that have to hand out flyers, getting alot of
scowls and grunts (mainly from me)
?? Well I got handed one today on the way into town and for some reason I took it. And I'm very glad I did.
On the front was a beautiful girl infront of a moon, worthy of a frame and a place on my dressing table. And when I turned it over, I began to read about "The Whim Wham Club".
With a Vintage soundtrack for dancing, and preformances from The Lola Pops, Miss Bettie Dean & Dr Sid. I particularly liked the bit at the bottom:

THIS IS NOT FANCY DRESS WE JUST WANT YOU TO DRESS FANCY.

Yes please, I feel a spot of 'appropiate dress finding' coming on.

So the moral of the story....don't growl at the boys & girls who give you flyers. Well, go on then, you can still growl at some.

Oh You Golden Balls.

After thinking about the Queen of Burlesque whilst on the bus, whilst making lunch, whilst my Mum harped on about Jade Goody, I felt I had to do something with my day. No, I didn't give the nearest passer by a cheeky flash of my suspenders- I did what a girl does best. I baked.
I bought the glorious sugar flowers from a market stall back home, and think they look just so with the coloured balls

Dita to Sing!

Really, what else is this Teese capable of?!

Although, I have to admit it, I did let out a small but excited squeal when I came across this delightful news. I wonder what her voice sounds like, and if the music will be as sizzling as her performances. Ooh and the music videos, the outfits, feathers..........what a treat.
And I also read she is covering Irving Berlin's 'Lazy'

I always want to dye my hair black when I think of lovely Dita. However I fear I may walk around looking more like a Bad Wig rather than Burlesque. I shall stay in my Red Rut and be done with it. Besides, I'd have to get a whole new wardrobe if I did that.

Hello Cheesecake!

After hours of pouring over other people's photos of holidays, favourite designers and swish street style, I've decided to create my own blog.
I am planning to post tit-bits of my life as a 1950's enthusiast, including my favourite recipies, adventures, music, fashion and anything downright pretty.
I do hope you enjoy my sweet nothins'!

Yours Holly Heartbeat xx.
